Maybe you’ve heard? Boulder was named the top city for tech startups in the US last week, according to a joint report from Engine and the Ewing Mario Kauffman Foundation. Adjusted for city size—and companies less than 5 years old—Boulder tops an impressive list of ten, including another three in Colorado. Silicon Valley is nowhere in sight.
- Boulder, CO
- Fort Collins, CO
- San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, CA
- Cambridge-Newton-Framingham, MA
- Seattle, WA
- Denver, CO
- San Francisco, CA
- Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD
- Colorado Springs, CO
- Cheyenne, WY
What’s the silver lining for homeowners? Vitality in the marketplace. Escalation of home values. Job creation. More people attracted to the area (ok, maybe that’s not a plus)—unless you need a buyer.
Startups bring their own culture, support and resources to Boulder, not to mention the energetic, intelligent, entrepreneurial minds that fuel the creativity, possess the drive and muster the guts to hatch an idea and run with it.
Kudos to all the techies out there… keep up the good work!
